Rules of the Game

How do I play?

Visit each participating bar across Boston and order their Mystery Cocktail. You’ll receive a stamp on your case file and unlock clue cards—suspects, crime scenes, and possible weapons. Collect all the clues, eliminate possibilities, and piece together who killed Tom Laffer, where, and with what.

What do I win?

Players who solve the mystery earn entry to the Last Call Ball, a costumed finale event at a secret location on Sunday, November 2nd. The suspects will all be there making cocktails, the murderer will be revealed, and prizes will be awarded. Along the way, you’ll also collect a full deck of custom vintage-style clue cards to keep.

How much does it cost?

Participation in Proof & Motive is free — just pay for your drinks at each bar. Every Mystery Cocktail you order unlocks different clues.
